Jennifer & Daniel’s Chelsea Old Town Hall & Claridge’s Wedding

Jennifer & Daniel’s Chelsea Old Town Hall & Claridge’s Wedding

Some weddings have a way of feeling effortless from beginning to end. Jennifer and Daniel’s London wedding was exactly that.Originally from Ireland, the couple first met with us in London about a year before their wedding. They were looking at a few potential venues and wanted to get a feel for what might work for their day. We spent some time together exploring their options and talking through the kind of atmosphere they wanted.Eventually, they decided on Claridge’s.We’ve photographed so many weddings at Claridge’s over the years that we’ve genuinely lost count, but it remains one of those places we never get tired of. A year after that first meeting, everything was booked, the plans were in place and it was finally time for the wedding day.

And what a day it was!

Getting Ready at Claridge’s

The morning began at Claridge’s, with Jennifer and Daniel getting ready separately in two different rooms.

Jennifer’s bridal suite was something else. Truly one of those rooms where you walk in and immediately think, wow. There was even a piano in the room, which Daniel had already decided was going to play a rather special part in the morning because he had arranged a surprise for Jennifer. As she was getting ready, a pianist began playing in the room. It was such a lovely and unexpected moment, and exactly the kind of personal detail that made their wedding feel so special. And then it was time to head to Chelsea.

A Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place at Chelsea Old Town Hall, one of London’s most iconic town halls and a favourite of ours to photograph.

Jennifer and Daniel chose the Brydon Room for their ceremony for the moment they officially became husband and wife. After the ceremony came all the moments we love about a Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding. The confetti, The hugs, The congratulations, family group photographs and of course, time for Jennifer and Daniel to simply enjoy being newly married.

We kept things relaxed and natural, allowing plenty of time for the couple to enjoy themselves rather than turning the day into one long photoshoot. Once the formalities were done, everyone climbed aboard the wedding bus and made their way back towards Claridge’s.

Claridge's Reception - French Salon and Drawing room

Returning to Claridge’s felt like coming home for the second half of the day.

But Daniel wasn’t finished with the surprises just yet as another very special moment was waiting for her. The same pianist was there, this time accompanied by a choir, ready to welcome her and surprise her once again.

It was one of those moments that was impossible to stage or recreate. Jennifer’s reaction said everything.

And this is one of the reasons we love weddings.

After drinks reception, we decided to sneak outside for a little while with Jennifer and Daniel. One of our favourite parts of a wedding day is finding those little pockets of time where a couple can step away from everyone else.

No big production,No complicated posing.Just the two of them, together capturing some relaxed, candid portraits using the incredible surroundings while keeping everything natural.

Claridge’s gives us so many beautiful opportunities for this. After dinner, Jennifer changed into her evening dress and the atmosphere shifted. A DJ and saxophonist got everyone on the dance floor and the evening started with Jennifer and Daniel’s first dance before turning into exactly the kind of celebration you hope for at a wedding.

There was dancing, a lot of dancing, there was cake cutting and there was music.

There were plenty of hugs, laughs and completely unplanned moments.

Honestly, we’re very much in favour.

We absolutely loved spending every minute of it with them.

Jennifer and Daniel, thank you for trusting us to photograph such an important chapter of your lives. It was an absolute pleasure from that first meeting in London right through to the last dance.

And Claridge’s?

Well, we’ll never get tired of photographing weddings there!
